We are thrilled that local in-person events are being hosted again in Halifax. This is exciting progress for our meetings and conventions industry as we continue to navigate through our "new normal" and work together on safely hosting larger events in our region.
We know many of our hotel partners have been open and hosting small events over the past few weeks with much success. The Halifax Convention Centre hosted its first event on September 12th and it was a huge success for the client, partners and convention centre team. The Nova Scotia Seafood Alliance's Annual General Meeting allowed us to put into motion the policies and framework we have been so diligently working on over the past several months. We can't thank you enough for your continued collaboration through this journey; your expertise, insight and support have been instrumental in the reopening our venues and in the recovery of our industry.
"On behalf of the Board of the Nova Scotia Seafood Alliance and the entire membership, I would like to express a very sincere thanks for your superb undertaking on our behalf on Saturday. Whenever we host these events I compare myself to the nervous ‘ Mother of the Bride ’, but as we all know now everything went off perfectly thanks to your planning well in advance. The commitment to detail and customer service you folks displayed was through the roof."
- Stewart Lamont, Tangier Lobster Company Limited
Each time we successfully host safe meetings, like this, we continue to build trust. This is one of the messages we are sharing with the Meet Again Halifax campaign. Discover Halifax launched the campaign and its resources on the meetagainhalifax.com site in August. Over the past month, the campaign has received approximately 100,000 impressions. Visitors continue to be highly engaged with the site, consuming multiple pages and resources as well as returning for more than one visit.
"What a lot of people don’t know is that all of the hotels set up the meeting protocols to then give out to the rest of the province so they can host safe meetings. Some of the things we are doing are one-way traffic, wearing masks, having individually served product and social distancing."
- Megan Delaney, HANS President
We appreciate the support from the many partners and champions who have helped shape the campaign. Together, we are getting the word out that meetings can be safe and manageable with trusted guidance from experts like yourself. Please continue to do what you do best by hosting safe events, and join the effort by downloading the Meet Again Halifax Toolkit for assets for use on your website, social media channels and on your website.
Again, we can't thank you enough for your ongoing support as we go through these times together. Please reach out at any time with questions, comments or ideas, we will continue to have an open line of communication and welcome your feedback.
